Frequently asked questions
Is the discomfort check a medical diagnosis?

How long does the discomfort check take?
Which complaints does the check cover?
What if the pain does not go away?
What does the discomfort check look at?
It asks where you feel pressure, chafing or numbness and what it feels like. Then it goes through saddle height, saddle tilt, riding position and cycling shorts with you – the points on your bike that often play a part. 6 questions, about a minute. It does not recommend any products.
What do I change first?
Only one thing at a time: first the saddle height, then the tilt, then your riding position. Ride a few times after each change before making the next one. That way you notice what helps. If it is mainly your sit bones that hurt, you will find causes and the right saddle width in the guide Sit bone pain when cycling.
When do I need medical advice?
When pain, numbness or tingling is strong, does not ease after riding or stays despite a new setup. The check is not a diagnosis and does not replace a medical examination.
